Ball skills and movement classes for toddlers and young children
Catch-a-Balls – ball and movement skills coaching for pre-schoolers, is excited to announce two new classes from January 2017. To add to their portfolio of classes across Surrey, they will be offering Club Boing and Club Bounce from 9th January.
The Cobham classes will be held at Cobham Village Hall, Lushington Drive on Mondays at 9.30 – 10.00am and 10.05 – 10.55am. The classes are perfect for 18 months to 3.5 years old.
Catch-a-balls is a ball and movement skill class for children of 18 months – 5 years. We have a number of established classes successfully running across Surrey, as well as our group sessions in Pre Schools and Day Nurseries.
Catch-a-balls classes are structured so that the physical development aspect of the Early Years Foundation stage and Key Stage 1 are clearly met.
During a session we focus on a variety of different skills and issues:
- We help the children explore how they can move their bodies challenging them to keep their balance, improve their co-ordination and look at the space around them.
- In order to develop their ball skills we coach throwing and catching using beanbags, scarves, bats, large and small balls and balloons.
- We talk about the changes in our bodies after doing exercise and the importance of keeping healthy.
- Additionally, the class is structured so that the children develop their social skills through taking turns, working with a partner or just simply making sure that they look where they are going.
