As always we have searched high and low across across Surrey to bring you details of lots of great activities you can do during the February Half Term!!

You can see Lambs, Birds of Prey, Butterflies and Creep Crawleys!

Bocketts Farm – February Half Term Fun

Enjoy a great family day out this February Half term with the start of the spring lambing!

  • Over 70 gorgeous new born lambs due in our Big Animal Barn and Lambing Shed
  • Meet the Shepherd in sessions throughout the day. An opportunity to learn all about our sheep and lambs!
  • Birds of Prey flying demonstrations. MONDAY TO FRIDAY ONLY from 11am – 4pm. Flying demonstrations at 12pm and 2pm.
  • Meet miniature Shetland ponies in the Pony Parlour. Daily at 11am, 1.30pm, 3pm and 4.30pm.

All additional activites free of charge



Chertsey Museum

Designer Door Hangers

14 Feb 2017 – 10am to 11am or 11.30am to 12.30pm

Create a customized sign to hang on your bedroom door handle. Decorate it using paint, paper, fabric and sparkly bits. It is sure to look amazing!

Wonderful Wooden Spoon Animals

16 Feb 2017 – 11am to 12.30pm or 2pm to 3.30pm

Turn a traditional wooden spoon into an animal using felt, wool and other decorations. Fun and fabulous too!

Garsons Farm

Half term Planting and Growing

Tuesday 14th February – Thursday 16th February

Visit Garsons this half term and learn how to grow flowers and vegetable from seeds! Choose from broad beans, sunflowers and cress to take home, follow our guide and watch your seeds grow!

Available between Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th February, 10am – 3pm. Children will also be able to complete a flower hunt for a chance to win some cool prizes! All activities are free to enter.

Hatchlands Park

February Half-term
Monday 13th to Sunday 19th – 10:00 to 16:00

Explore inside a tree, build a den or run around in the rain. See how many 50 things you can enjoy this half term. Please dress for the weather with wellies or walking boots strongly recommended. This is a winter parkland trail and you’ll likely encounter a little mud.




Saturday 11th – Sunday 19th February

In addition to the usual attractions we will have daily Hobbledown show time in Topperpot’s Teepee Theatre and visits from our new character Old Man Tom and Professor’s Topperpot’s latest invention – his magical bubble bike.

Hersham village hall for the community kt125lt £3 per child siblings under 8 months free. Everyone welcome.

Tues- 0-solid walkers. 2-2.40 pm @ same venue as above. £3 per baby. Everyone welcome.

Weds- 1-4yrs – 9.30-10.15am & 10.30-11.15 am– @ Walton sure start centre, sandy lane. Walton families only. £2 per family.

Weds- 2-2.30pm Burhill babies– held at faulkners lane, beaver lodge hall. Not sure start centre. £2 per baby. Hersham families only.

Thurs- 9.30-10.15am Burhill 1-4yrs @ faulkners rd beaver lodge. £2 per child. Hersham families only.

No sessions on friday.


Odds Farm

11th, 12th, 18th and 19th February

On various weekends and during some school holidays, join in with the madness and mayhem of Odds Farm Park’s Crazy Entertainers! With several shows daily, all the extra fun is included in entry!

Wild Woodland Camp
Tuesday 14th, 15th, 16th February – 09:00 to 16:00

Bushcraft Tuesday: Set out on a journey to explore the beautiful winter woods, setting up camp in the heart of the forest by building a cosy den. Light your own fire the bushcraft way to make a delicious hot chocolate and toast marshmallows. Spend a fun-filled afternoon with woodland games and the bushcraft station where you can make a spear-thrower or other exciting creations!

Creative Wednesday: Sculpt amazing clay creations, make muddy, messy tree trolls and build the biggest sandcastles. Build a fire to make campfire doughnuts and other tasty treats. Create your own paints to decorate a woodland mask and bend and work willow to make dream catchers, decorations or winter lanterns. Make your own outdoor games, including woodland hoopla, camo-hide-and-seek and twangball.

Wild Wood Thursday: Spend the morning building huge dens out of wood, leaves, mud and natural materials. Decorate your den with clay creatures and charcoal designs, or build your own extra structures with cord and sticks. Have an outdoor feast around the campfire with hot dogs, hot chocolate and hot popcorn before taking on the natural treasure hunt to bag yourself a tasty prize.

Polesden Lacey

Half-term trail

Monday 13th to Sunday 19th February – 10:00 to 15:00

Collect your trail instructions from the Shepherd’s Hut and come and meet the secret servants who scuttle and bustle behind the scenes in the wild woods to keep Polesden Lacey running like clockwork. If only The Humans knew how lucky they were to have their “help”!

For children aged 5 – 12

Childrens Photography Workshop

13th and 14th February 10:00 to 15:00

Suitable for children from 10yrs and up, this 1 day course with our resident professional photographer covers portraiture, shutter speed and much more.  Bring your camera and wear outdoor clothes suitable for the weather conditions.

Wild Learning

13th, 14th and 15th February 10:15 to 16:00

Wild Learning Holiday Club gives kids the chance to play, learn and explore all day in safe supervised woods.

Den building, wild art, woodland games, tracking and more.

Run by Forest School qualified leaders, Wild Learning clubs are the perfect antitdote to holiday boredom.



Squires Garden Centres

Create & Grow February Half Term Fun

Monday 13th – Friday 17th February, 10am – 4pm at all centres except chertsey

Paint an owl money box – Paint a terracotta owl to look after your pocket money and brighten up your room – £4.

There will also be a FREE spot the difference and maze for you to take part in where you will receive a sticker and a chance to win a prize!



Wisley RHS Garden

Butterfly-themed half term activities, 11–19 February

February half term at Wisley is packed with free family events celebrating their Butterflies in the Glasshouse event.

Join in, whatever the weather, to create butterfly-themed weather crafts.

  • Make your own rain stick decorated with butterflies
  • Create your own butterfly watering can
  • Make a bubble-art butterfly
  • Bring in your outgrown wellington boots to decorate and upcycle, by planting them up with flower seeds to attract butterflies.
  • Activities vary daily, and all activities are free with normal garden admission.

Try one of the drop-in activities, available any time during garden opening hours:

  • Visit the Butterfly Box and learn about the life cycle of the butterfly in four interactive zones. Track the complete metamorphosis from the egg, the caterpillar, the pupae and the unfurling butterfly.
  • Make the most of the great outdoors: build a den with sticks from the garden in the Wild at Wisley play area or walk through Wilson’s Wood and try some bird spotting at the bird hide.
