Hersham Safari Adventure Golf Course

Hersham Village Golf Club have undergone a massive restructure to create an exciting Safari themed, 18 hole adventure golf course and new restaurant facilities including new menus to make the venue more family friendly. We were lucky to have a sample of some of the food options on offer and it is clear that the club are focusing on quality while still maintaining good value for money (you can see the menu page here, including kids options safariadventuregolf.com/safari-golf-lunch).

hersham-safari-golf-cropWith a three year old crazy golf enthusiast in tow, we put the course to the test and it did not disappoint. The course is excitingly decorated with interesting features, animals and sound effects to create the safari feel. We particularly love the holes where you putt into a snake’s mouth, under a crashed jeep with billowing smoke or beneath the cage of a growling gorilla, and then have to run around to the other side to see where your ball has ended up. The course, while compact, is well laid out; with waterways guarded by crocodiles and ferries operated by pulley systems to cross, volcanoes to pass under and caves to putt through.

What I love about adventure golf is that it’s such an inclusive family activity. There are not many activities that hersham-safari-golf-elephantsI can do with the kids and know that not only will they enjoy it, but I will too. It is a great back drop for healthy competition, communication and simple rules which are great for kids. But it’s also so much fun. I’ve been taking my son since he was about two and a half, and while he had a pretty interesting technique at that point, he would still be fully engaged in the game. And not only a brilliant activity for the littles, this one is a crowd pleaser for all ages.

To celebrate the Grand opening of this fantastic new facility, Hersham Village Golf Club are hosting a Summer Fete from 11am-6pm on Saturday August 1st. Entry to the fete is free and there will be a variety of giant inflatables, activities, prizes and with food available all day, an opportunity to sample their new menu.
