Surrey Young Superstars 2017 – Surrey Youth Focus

Do you know any deserving, unsung young heroes in Surrey, who go above and beyond in support of their community, family and friends?

Surrey agent Haslemere Travel has once again joined together with the county’s largest voluntary youth organisation representative, Surrey Youth Focus, to launch the Surrey Young Superstars Awards 2017.

Now in their fifth year, the annual awards – which are run on a not-for-profit basis and are free to enter – will reward and showcase young people’s efforts in the county and honour them for their hard work and achievements.

Deadline for entries is April 24th 2017.

The Surrey Young Superstars awards will be presented at a special awards ceremony at the Guildford Harbour Hotel on the afternoon of Sunday, May 7th 2017.

Last year more than 50 young people were recognised for their efforts in the eight individual award categories, which include caring, fund raising and volunteering.

Anyone can nominate a Surrey Young Superstar – a friend, family, teacher or even yourself.  Simply decide the nomination category,then in no more than 250 words, explain why you (or the person/group you know) is a deserving Young Superstar.


The nomination categories are:

Caring Superstar

This award will go to a young person who has demonstrated outstanding care for a family member or friend in need.

Fundraising Superstar (5-12 yrs)

This award will go to the individual or group, which has raised funds for a good cause in an innovative and creative way. Evidence of funds raised may be required.

Fundraising Superstar (13-19 yrs)

This award will go to the individual or group, which has raised funds for a good cause in an innovative and creative way. Evidence of funds raised may be required.

Courageous Superstar

This award is for a young person who has overcome adversity, be that illness, disability or disadvantage, to achieve and exceed their goals with a positive and inspiring attitude on those around them.

Community Superstar

This award will go to the individual or group who have who have gone the extra mile to make a significant difference to their local community.

Volunteering Superstar

This award is for a young person or group who has made a difference in their community through the giving of their time and efforts voluntarily for the benefit of others.

Superstar of the Year 2017

(NB No entries requested -this is at the discretion of the judges) – An additional, special award presented to a young person from the above categories who has been deemed by the judges to have truly excelled in their endeavours…

The closing date for all nominations is Monday, 24th April 2017. Winners will be invited to the special Surrey Young Superstars Awards ceremony at the Guildford Harbour Hotel on Sunday, May 7th 2017.

Help strengthen youth voluntary and charitable organisations by providing access to knowledge and resources from business, schools, local authorities, etc.

Empowering Young People

Empower the voice of youth and to hear the voices of young people, ensuring that a wide range of young people’s voices are heard.

Collaborate across sectors to engage all relevant parties to help young people be heard and encouraged to take action.

Encourage and support young people to take action to improve the world around them, thus developing confidence and self-belief in the  young person’s agency.
