Temporary No Waiting Order – Hersham Road & Rydens Grove

We have received notification of the 3 month no waiting order issued by Surrey County Council to facilitate some works being carried out to enable the installation of some new high voltage systems.

The no waiting order seems to impact stretches of both Hersham Road and Rydens Grove and appears to be valid for a period of 3 months from the 30th of January.

It should be noted that disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge WILL NOT be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction

We have requested clarification from Surrey County Council as to the intended duration of the no waiting order and as soon as this has been received we will update this page.

High Voltage Works for the Rydens School Development

I write to inform you of the above temporary no waiting Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time in the following lengths of roads:-

(a)        That length of (D3848) Hersham Road, Hersham, between the north westerly boundary of property number 247 Hersham Road and the north eastern boundary of property number 1 Rydens Grove, Walton on Thames, a distance of 213 metres.

(b)        That length of (D3836) Rydens Grove, Walton on Thames, between the north eastern boundary of property number 1 Rydens Grove, Walton on Thames and the south eastern property boundary of property number 21a Rydens Grove, a distance of 130 metres.

This Temporary Order is required to enable High Voltage Systems and Services to carry out the installation of services to the new school development.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 within ten days of the three-month period of operation of this Order that commences on 30th January 2017. The temporary waiting restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and advanced notification will be given.

Any vehicle being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the temporary waiting restrictions described above.

The usual exemptions for Post Office vehicles when delivering or collecting postal packets, vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control, to pick up and set down passengers, to load and unload goods, to carry out essential services and works or when used by local authorities in pursuance of statutory powers or duties and for furniture removals and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer, will apply when the temporary waiting restrictions are in force.
