The Gift of Charms – Julia Suzuki

The Gift of Charms – Julia Suzuki

book_smallIn the Land of Dragor the clan’s powers are fading…. The Gift of Charms is an entertaining, magical fantasy story, which is perfect for children who are interested in reading about adventures.  This book tells a story about a Red Nephan Dragon Yoshiko who is born out of strange shell and is almost sent away forever if it wasn’t for his caring elders.  Yoshiko spends a lot of time at the Fire School and on his journey to becoming an adult dragon he learns many important life lessons.  Yoshiko’s story draws you in as he meets exciting new characters on his way to fulfil his destiny.

I think this book carries a strong message to all children that if you try hard at something and practise everyday, you can do anything you want to.  It also shows that if someone is bullying you they are most likely either jealous of you or they are being bullied themselves by someone bigger than them.  You will see how true this is for Igorr, a dragon who bullied Yoshiko but was very unhappy himself.

I would recommend this book to all my friends and children age 8-11, as this book will transport you into another world, far away from England and what you know.  I am hoping that there will be a sequel to this wonderful tale as I would love to know what happens next on the secret Land of Dragor.

** Julia has kindly setup an exclusive special offer for us of a discount on the purchase price of The Gift of Charms, she will also sign any copies!
