Feltonfleet School Host Christmas Party For The Community

Local school hosts Christmas party for the community

On Monday 3 December, Feltonfleet School in Cobham hosted a Christmas party for 65 older people who live in the local area.

Building on the success of the previous year, and supported by staff at Elmbridge Borough Council, the school pulled out all the stops, providing a festive lunch, gifts and entertainment for all attendees.

Pupils were on-hand welcoming visitors, serving refreshments, singing carols and chatting with their special guests.

Mrs Shelley Lance, Headmistress of Feltonfleet School who helped organise the event, commented:

“We were so delighted to be able to contribute to this wonderful idea and thankful to have been given the opportunity to support our local community in this way. Christmas is a special time for people of all ages and it was lovely to see so many people coming together to enjoy the festive spirit”.

This event was made possible through the generous support of The Wisley Foundation, a charity dedicated to enabling local projects to develop and grow.

Councillor Andrew Burley, Portfolio Holder for Community and Social Affairs said:

“Christmas is a time for communities, friends and families to share some festive cheer. For many people, young or old, Christmas can sometimes feel a little lonely, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and pupils of Feltonfleet School and, The Wisley Foundation for making this event possible. The party was an enormous success and enjoyed by all who attended”.
