Huge thanks to Mira Pathak for sending us in the following review of her trip to Maise’s Thai in Thames Ditton!
We recently had a lovely dinner at Maisie’s Thai restaurant in Thames Ditton.
Service was friendly and attentive and very prompt too!
On a Saturday night it was nicely busy, but not too crowded so you could still very much relax the atmosphere.
Decor is not specifically Thai, I think, but warm and cosy.
The menu has many choices and we went for the Kanom Jeeb Thai dumplings with prawns and minced chicken, and the Tom Kha Gai soup as a starter.
Both were delicious.
The soup is one of my Thai favourites and it was definitely one of the best ones I’ve had.
For mains we had the Gaeng Paed Yang (Tender roast duck cooked in a unique combination of tangy pineapple and grape with rich coconut sauce), something which we had never had before, and it was absolutely delicious.
So was the Gaeng Kari Goon, Yellow coconut curry with king prawns, potatoes and onions.
Even though we were very full after the mains, we had the sorbet and something with coconut and mango with meringue in the middle.
I can’t quite remember the name as it’s not on the online menu, but both were clearly homemade and very tasty.
It was pre-made and still a bit frozen, but that didn’t really matter.
Definitely a nice restaurant to recommend.
Just plan in a bit of time of find parking.
