Gas Pipe Replacement in Burwood Park Lasting 37 Weeks!

There are forthcoming works to upgrade the gas network in the Burwood Park area of Hersham.

This involves the replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe – this work will start on Monday the 8th of July and last for 37 weeks!

There will be three overlapping phases as follows:

Phase One – Eriswell Road, between junction with Kilrue Lane and Broadwater Road North

Work will start on Eriswell Road between its junction with Kilrue Lane and Broadwater Road North on Monday 8 July for approximately four weeks – Eriswell Road will be closed between these junctions throughout this phase

  • There will be no access to Burwood Park from the Queens Road entrance, advance notice signs will be in place
  • Access to Burwood Park will be via Ince Road or the Burwood Road entrance
  • When working across the roundabout at the junction of Cranley Road and Onslow Road temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place
  • Any properties within the road closure will have specific access arrangements agreed.
  • There will be a two week break in work before we begin phase two

Phase Two – Ince Road, junction with Seven Hills Road


From Monday 19 August engineers will begin work on Ince Road at its junction with Seven Hills Road for approximately six weeks – Ince Road will be closed at this junction until work in this phase is complete

  • There will be no access to Seven Hills Road from Ince Road, advance notice signs will be in place to advise
  • Access to Seven Hills Road will be via the Queens Road or Burwood Road entrance

Phase Three – Burwood Park, multiple roads

From Monday 9 September work will progress through the following roads to upgrade the gas network for approximately 27 weeks

  • Broadwater Road North
  • Broadwater Close
  • Broadwater Road South
  • The Quillot
  • Cranley Road
  • Eriswell Road
  • Cargate Close

Traffic management throughout this phase will be minimal – details about specific roads will be released nearer the time.

Engineers will be working Monday – Friday between 8am and 4pm and Saturdays between 8am and 1pm.
